The cops who let the crowds through are complicit. They are criminals who abandoned their colleagues, and in some cases are responsible for deaths. In the case of this story, I can only imagine what would have happened if the crowd had gotten their hands on some Congresspeople. A hostage situation, at least. Elected officials paraded around in front of cameras. And maybe executions.
