current technology. Maybe "news" programs have to have a general standard of care that goes beyond pure libel/slander/defamation. Especially, where, as here, there is not really a person who could bring such a claim. It's just general disinformation. I mean I understand how fraught that is with issues, but merely reporting that someone said something completely insane shouldn't be news that can be carried without context.
