My mom had some alternative views or leanings, but she never pushed them on anyone or try to convince anyone.

She did work within health care for a while, as a medical secretary (both in doctors' offices and in the regional hospital).
I guess none of her altie-views were in direct opposition to what she learned during her studies, though - rather supplemented them.
