They are cousins. Robert went to the royal weddings. Robert's mother was an old money American who married in. The royals themselves were impoverished. They bought a castle with a vinyard. Robert's career is pushing insanely overpriced wine to Hollywood celebs. God bless him, I guess! He's a low ranking prince, but he fooled Hollywood.
