Trump's statement about DC statehood sums it up: "Then the Democrats would have more senators. That's not fair."
(and same for voting rights)
In their mind they deserve equal time to spread propaganda, equal cabinet members and judges, equal power in congress, even though the demographics and opinions of the country don't support that equity.
