Apologies, but I need more brilliant ST ideas. What day of the week/time of day would be good for a networking event?

This is in regards to my previous post about me organizing a reunion for some old cow orkers. I'm liking the bar idea, and I think I found a good place for it. Now, just wondering about date/time.

In the past, when I've gone to networking events, they were almost always on a weekday. Do I want this? How late? Also don't want Fri or Sat night night. So what? Sat afternoon? Possibility that people might be bringing their kids.
