More broadly, I would make an important distinction (apologies to any experts reading this if I don’t use more exact terminology) -- (edited)

between what I would call a market dislocation (hedge funds being overexposed to a short position in a stack, for example) and a fundamentally disordered market (where market participants have little to no confidence that a trade can be executed at a quoted price and it becomes a crap shoot, due to a bunch of retail investors piling into a trade and buying willynilly).
