For the record, I'm the O.G. Sandman fan. I picked up issue #1 off the shelf because I loved the cover art. Bask in my glory!

I kept collecting it because of how cleverly it tied in the historic DC continuity rather then pretending it didn't exist, and the Sam Keith art in the first few issues was pretty damn nice, too.
