The girl from the beginning, who wandered out into the highway, is brought into the station. But that went nowhere. They just left it dangling.
The detective asks the suspect out for a beer so the partner can break into his apartment and do a search. But the suspect realizes he's been stood up and comes back early. Why the F didn't the detective just go meet him for the beer?
On and on like that.
Like I said, the one good thing was the crack about Detroit
