What's a good stock trading solution in Canada with low/no commissions?

My bank's solution is ... servicable. The fee is $9.95CAD per trade. But the interface annoys me & logs me out.

I know that Morgan Stanley bought Smith Barney from Citi as part of the latter’s bailout in 2008/2009, but i don’t remember if they also tried to buy schwab at some point. -- nm*
