In response to "heh...just walked by my cichlid tank and saw a bunch of "stuff" floating around and was like "what the hell" Turns out my Jewel Cichlids had babies" by Stephen

Related: I got a pair of praying mantises to breed in a ten-gallon fishtank once.

The female laid her eggsac (like a dollop of orange caulk) on the top of the tank.

The male died shortly thereafter, but did not have his head bitten off, as I had been led to expect.

The female even died a month or two afterward.

I pretty much forgot about it, but left the tank where it was and didn't disturb anything.

One morning I got up and I couldn't see inside the tank because the inner walls were *coated* with tiny, baby mantises. They seemed fully formed, but only about 1cm long and partially transparent.

A very interesting mix of cute and creepy.
