It's still more effective than the flu shot is most years. -- (edited)

It is also a single dose vaccine, which is a huge plus from a public health perspective. It's also far easier to store, being stable for longer periods at refrigerator temperatures, also huge for places where subzero freezers and the like are in short supply.
