well, to the im: obviously i would be sober for the show in these circumstances.

and yes, it's selfish. but you know, so far this year I have had to not go to two Red Sox games, a play, a vacation day I took for myself to relax, and now a 311 show, all of which i had tickets for that i had to dump or give away, because either someone hit a telephone pole, or my dad got in a bike accident, or my wife's back was so bad she couldn't sit in a chair, or the person I was taking didn't bother to take it off work, or some other shit. So I feel that it is somewhat ok for me to want to be selfish on this one thing.
