"check shelf" (because that's where it's supposed to be. If it's checked out, the status is "Due 7-3-2009." If it's recently been returned after being checked out, the status is "Just returned."
For some reason, the "Just returned" status automatically goes away after 24 hours. But our shelvers never get it reshelved in 24 hours. Two days later, the status is "Check shelf," but never actually there.
So my question is this. What is a reasonable amount of time to expect an item to be reshelved by? Two days? 3? 4? 5? 10?
(This is not even related to whether or not the "just returned" status can be extended to more than 24 hours, but assume that it can't.)
