Don't mean this as chastising, but news sites need to stop saying "State X wants to do Y" just because some crazy-pants legislator introduces a bill.

Usually it's awful stuff (looking at you, Florida and New Mexico!) but it could just as easily be good stuff. Most of this shit never gets passed and even when it does, if it's significant enough to make headlines, it usually gets challenged in court and probably gets tossed out (except for California... California keeps passing bills that impact the entire country... getting a little big-headed there, California?)
