Hey folks. Update in two parts. Part one, our USCG contract was recompeted and we did not win. I was laid off 2 weeks ago Friday.

We wrote a kickass proposal. There were ten competitors. We will never know why we didn't get it, it's all back channel politics. I take personal pride that I deliberately made some parts of their Sharepoint page ridiculously difficult. As far as I have heard, they are still stuck on the December update on the front page, and they will be stuck there for a long time.

This is not a terrible situation. It turns out the last year of running the internal Coast Guard COVID site qualified me to be a SharePoint administrator. That's in MUCH higher demand than my other skills, and it pays better.

I admittedly took a little break the last couple of weeks.

So, that's where it is.
