Update part 2. My mother has 4 living siblings with spouses. The youngest one, wife of my uncle Pierre, dropped dead of a heart attack about 3w ago.

She wasn't feeling good, went to doctors office, and dropped dead in the waiting room.

She was AWESOME, loved her, she was DEFINITELY not on my radar to die.

So, here's the extra shitty thing. My uncle Pierre has a double whammy. He has Alzheimer's as well as a degerative neuromotor disease, common in Quebecois. She was his caregiver. My 4 cousins are taking turns caring for him.

Ten days ago he had a massive heart attack. On Friday, he had triple bypass surgery, he seems to be doing ok. I feel so bad for my cousins.

Also, last week, one of our very close family friends got sick. He went to the hospital and he turned out to have acute leukemia. He died 3 days later. He was 50. I still can't get my head around it.
