I partially kid, partially wonder as I've found myself in the same situation with places that are really close to me.

Arrive early, possibly have to wait.

Arrive significantly after the pickup time, definitely cold food

Arrive a few minutes after scheduled pick up time is the interesting could be either. Wait or cold (cooling) food
