Many years ago a local county official faced a hearing over his expense account. One item in question was for entertaining a group to lunch at

a rather nice local French restaurant. The tab included a $100 bottle of brandy, I don't remember the total.
During the hearing a fellow councilman was heard to say "How could it possibly be that expensive - it's in Garden Grove for God's sake!!"
Our city fathers were not amused. An apology was demanded and received :-)
