Guy: Keep in mind, there are at least three different generations of people who have completely different experiences with "Michael Jackson".

There's the generation that has known him since he was a young black singer as part of his family's musical pastiche.
There's the generation that mostly just knows his solo career and transition to what he was in the 90's and 2000's.
And there's the generation that *only* knows the crazyinsane king of pop behaviour from him.
Even though I'm in the right age bracket to qualify for the middle group, my own musical experience (and lack thereof) leads me to actually be more in the third group.
