In response to "ST lawyers. I have a copyright question. I have a former friend being a jerk on You Tube and listing my name in supporters. I want it off." by Peglegpete

I don't think a name qualifies as a work under copyright. As such, this falls under the realm of libel and slander.

If, for instance, someone were to say you supported a certain political candidate, and you could demonstrated that this was harmful to your reputation, then perhaps there may be a case. As such, if someone says "He is a supporter of mine" and that in some way harms your standing, such as in a business transaction, that may be grounds for a legal claim. But not a copyright claim, I believe.
