1. The media really truly does numb the masses, if it can help quell the rioting.
2. If the rioting gets worse, maybe it's a sign that the media can have the opposite effect, and inspire people to action.
You know, what with Saruman being comparable to Ahmedinejad, and Sauron being like Khamenei.
Or Ahmedinejad being like Grima Wormtongue, and Khamenei being kinda like King Theoden.
