That battle scene seemed to last longer than a Hobbit movie.
The Cyborg origin story felt overlong and indulgent. Hell, the entire movie feels like Snyder's a sick child that the whole town is trying to cheer up by giving him whatever he wants.
I did like the Aquaman water save. I also loved Victor's father saving the guy from the biohazard spiel by saying he wrote the script.
Darkseid looks ridiculous. I don't know how you fuck up something that basic. The lava eyes don't work at all. It's remarkable that Harley Quinn did Darkseid and the parademons so much better than a movie WB/DC has made *twice*.
I do like that they used anti-life in this, as that's Darkseid's thing.
The Lois Lane scene makes zero fucking sense with the reveal that it's Martian Manhunter. He somehow knows personal information about Mrs. Kent that he shouldn't. It's exactly the sort of big reveal that gets undone by terrible writing and logic.
Conversely, the logic that the Mother Boxes are afraid of Superman really works within the established parameters of the story. But then Batman just spits out that there are six, not five, almost as if he hadn't spent an entire fucking movie trying to eliminate Superman. That's the WB/DC shit that's self-destructive.
I've earned a few days off from this.
