Unfortunately, the UI on the screen is how you adjust a lot of settings for driving and charging, so it can't be ignored entirely.

It's clunky and difficult to navigate from what I've seen.
Though for the most part once you've managed to adjust the settings for driving you don't need to adjust them again if you're happy with them.
