If we build out the infrastructure then we should own it but in that case why would the internet companies want to lease those lines if there's

nothing to made from them? Are we going to give it away to the companies for free?
I'm all for doing what we can to get broadband to everyone. I'm just not okay with what I think will turn into free money for the telecommunications companies. They'll get the customers without having had to spend a penny to reach them.
And again, they're crazy rich. They're being allowed near monopolies in many areas and make more than enough to have to build out to reach everyone. For that they should be forced to expand.
