His wife needs bone marrow as part of leukemia treatment. It's best to get a familial match, which her sister is. Her sister is in Brazil and the earliest they could get the marrow here from Brazil is April 27th. She needs it April 1st. So they wanted to get her an emergency visa. They struggled to get an appointment. Somebody got an ambassador to make contact, but the email address the ambassador gave him bounced back an automated reply. They were given an interview for April 5th. Finally got an interview for the emergency visa, visa was granted, then his sister-in-law tested positive for covid.
