My Wrigley Field impressions after a few shifts if you care. Mask mandate kind of works. Cubs bats don’t.

I’m in guest services which could be ticket taker, usher, answering questions, and other stuff depending on the day. I’m not security (although we’re side by side much of the time) and I have nothing to do with concessions at all.
Masks are required *at all times* on Cubs property inside and out. The public is doing very well following this outside the ballpark, in the concourses, washrooms, and while they’re walking around. While seated, they’ve been told masks up unless actively eating or drinking. This can be done. Hold mask down, take a bite or a drink, slide mask up, chew and swallow. Not that hard but, a lot of resistance to this and, when I’ve been in the seating bowl or bleachers, I have to constantly point to fans and they mask up until I turn around and it’s back down. It’s like whack-a-mole. It sucks.
Ballpark entry has been smooth, mostly because it’s only 10,000 people and tickets on phone were a thing in 2019. Security, they have a new type of magnomitor (?) scanner thingy that fans just walk through. No emptying pockets, no bag check so that is really nice.
Concessions are messy I’ve heard. Fans can have beer delivered to their seat through the app but I’ve heard it takes a long time or it doesn’t show at all. The in-stand vendors also have credit card readers but I’ve heard of occasional signal issues. It’s advised you order in your seat then walk to the concourse stand to pick up food but lines still look pretty long so not sure how that’s working.
All in all, everyone seems happy to be back at the Federal Landmark and if the Cubs could string a few hits together we’d be happier.
