politicians often waste taxpayer money by combining personal pleasure, whether it be golfing or snorkling, or...adultery, with legitimate business.

In other words a politician who coordinates a "fact finding mission" to wherever who then spends a good chunk of time at recreational activities is no less guilty of wasting taxpayer money than is someone who does it to get some tail.

At least that's my take on it. I could be wrong.
