I am alright and don’t need anything but your usual love, which I am grateful for always. Note: Most tech advice is wrong about what to do.

Do not erase your iPhone right away. Report it as lost. If you erase it, you will not be able to track it. I knew this, so I didn’t make this mistake.
Do not change your appleid right away. Make sure you check your trusted device list or number list has something non Apple there. You will lock yourself out of your account adding insult to injury. I almost did this! But was lucky that while still logged in on the web, I could add a friends phone number.
And non tech advice: Don’t fight off muggers. I know this. You know this. We all know this. And yet we do it pretty much every single time. It’s not worth it. And yet we’ll do it anyway because primal nature kicks in.
Finally: Don’t blame yourself too much. I’m struggling already with this, of course. I have a lot of guilt in my life already. But there wasn’t anything I could have done differently except not been playing PokemonGo in a park where there were a few people around (but too far to notice) in the middle of a bright, sunny Saturday.
You’ll not get a good description. You just won’t. Especially when you have one glass lens knocked out of your glasses. Trying to see through one glass is worse than having none at all.
Alright, I’m going to go to the police station and see when is the best time I can fill out a report. I have no expectations at all about getting my phone back. Negative expectations really. But I do want to at least count myself as a statistic.
Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
