Neither pitch Bauer threw was a cutter. I wonder where they get their info for things like this. I see the wrong pitch being described all the time.
The first pitch was 86 mph and was very likely a breaking ball that just didn't break. Too slow to be a cutter.
The second pitch is definitely a slider. It was in the 89 mph range and he had thrown three or four of them already that at bat. He was getting really good movement on it and Tatis was biting at it off the plate. Bauer threw this pitch off the plate as well, it was well off the outside corner and about 89 mph. It was a slider.
I know I'm being nitpicky but if they're going to print things like what pitch was thrown they need to get it right.
