They do that from time to time. I have a pair that's 1 of 20. :-)

If you mean putting a number on the sneaker, that would break me. I'd have to have a certain number and would spend so much time trying to trade for a number I like.
But sneaker companies do have very limited edition sneakers that are numbered.
Last year the 4/20 SB Dunk was limited to 420 pairs and numbered on the lateral side of the heel. I was not able to get a pair and today they sell for over a grand.
