A handful of guys still use it and have a nice fadeaway near the post or elbow. It's not gone completely but coaches would rather

have their guys take the 3 than the mid range shot. Percentage wise it's not much different so you're better off going for the 3.
I'm not a fan of all this long range shooting but if guys are making 40% or better and it's not much worse than when they shoot from inside the arc it just makes sense to step back and take the 3.
