The gist is that Fields falls apart when he's pressured. It didn't happen often at OSU because of their overall talent level. On short passes (under 10 yards), he's one of the least accurate QBs in this draft. And he's got maturity issues, the kind that sank Terrelle Pryor.
I think he's pyrite, but here's the thing about five QBs graded this high. Two will become stars, two will flame out, and another will fall somewhere in the middle. I think the top two are Lawrence and Jones, followed by Wilson. But it could feasibly work out exactly the opposite.
Scheme fit and coaching matter so much with QBs. If Fields does go to NE, his odds of success go up by a factor of 10.
