Souse: No part goes to waste

Poke salad I looked up as I was positive that it wasn't the poke salad that I'm familiar with. Ok, one it's name is a mishearing / mangling of poke sallet. Then two, thriftiness as from what I'm reading it is a preparation of the poisonous pokeweed and turn it into an edible dish.

Hey, it's better than eating fugu for just the tingles
