At tonight's Ultimate Chaos show in Biloxi, Mississippi, former WWE star Bobby Lashley defeated Bob Sapp easily in the first round when Sapp tapped out as Lashley worked over Sapp with punches and elbows on the ground.
Lashley, who improved his MMA record to 4-0, immediately dove at Sapp's legs at the start of the round and took him down to the mat. Lashley went into Sapp's half-guard and threw punches and elbows down on Sapp. Sapp tried to defend, but Lashley stayed on top of him. It actually appeared Sapp tapped out once, but the referee missed it. Sapp tapped out a second time, ending the fight at 3:17 of the first round.
Sapp claimed in his post fight interview that Lashley controlled him, giving him credit, and landed a solid shot near his eye that hurt him.
Bobby Lashley said he stuck to his gameplan in his post-fight interview. Lashley admitted that despite his pre-fight claims that he was going to stand toe-to-toe and trade punches with Sapp, his plan all along was to go for the takedown and ground and pound him to weaken him.
