There's apparently quite a pedigree of fake Van Goghs out there. One particular painter made a bunch of copies right after his death.

Some of those are still circulating as real Van Goghs and the Van Gogh family and other institutions are hampering research into those fakes because money. Here's an interesting documentary on what is likely a fake that sold for millions.
