Are the non-Apple tracking devices such as Tile significantly worse at their purpose? Or lack of possible market reach? I don't remember stalking

Or is it just unintended consequences of technology and 'we' learned about the stalking possibilities from those first to market devices and thus articles weren't concentrated at release and thus had less of a public impact? Well, I guess to be more accurate less of a JD impact.
