Interesting. We had bought a bike at Dick's years ago but never used, and we were giving it to a friend.

I took it to the local bike shop for a "tune up" (it had a flat and just needed to be really tuned up), and I was reminiscing/wanting some of the Trek or Diamondback bikes they had.

I had diamondback in college in Colorado that I got for ~ $300 and LOVED that bike. Rode it all over. It got stolen off our our 3rd floor apartment balcony in Jax when our oldest was just born.

But yes, the bikes at the bike shop that I was looking at were $500+
