It has had a LOT of shifting issues but very lightly ridden over those years. My last charity ride was 2007 I think

it's not terribly hard work, but it can be time consuming if you don't know what you're doing. but it can make a huge difference in performance.

i like SRAM's stuff, but Shimano is fine. really you need to identify what doesn't work... changing out your handlebar shifters may be enough, maybe

trails are nice for that.. we have a 52 mile trail all protected that lets you focus on riding and not getting dead from a car :) -- nm
