He was very well liked on campus by the undergrads, who saw him as a bit of a mystic. His 11:15 pm last-chance Mass was very popular and students actually enjoyed his sermons a lot. The article mentions his Exorcist connection, but it was rumored to go further than that ... supposedly Blatty had based a character on him.
