the police ran the plate and sent the information of the other driver to my insurance. my insurance called the owner, who denied they had been in harrisburg (they live in pgh) and denied hitting me. insurance asked if they could inspect his car. of course he had scrubbed it within an inch of its life but there was visible damage and some orange paint. car is impounded during investigation, inconveniencing dude. investigation shows his car hit mine. my car will be fixed for free by my insurance, who will be reimbursed his insurance. he is in trouble for hit and run and must come to harrisburg for legal stuff.

moral of story: hit, sure. but look before you run.
