Sorry, I missed the post below about what year you are. So here's the deal . . .

At about this stage partners want to start seeing you take more ownership in your matters. Anticipating needs rather than just being directed. Starting to see the bigger picture and driving the process. You may already be doing those things. If you aren't already do it, start showing some business development initiative. Especially if you can identify some younger people at your clients who may not get the attention of the partners. Take them out and stay in contact with them. In a few years as you get more senior so will they and someday they will be decision makers. Also, they change jobs and if you stay in touch it may create opportunities to develop new clients. In the coming couple of years you will also start to supervise younger associates. Try to be a good mentor. Those are the basics at this stage.
