Definition of discipline? Like how will you discipline a dog? Is there a scenario they give you?

Like if I found my dog chewing on something it shouldn't I would give it a stern, "No!" before I took away what they were chewing on.
After the dog is relaxed I would offer the dog a toy it can chew on.
I also give praise when they do something they're supposed to do which I believe reinforces the good actions.
As for training objectives I would say my goal is to have a dog that walks well on the leash with minimal pulling and a dog that will respond to me in a positive way.
