I'd recommend offering to bring dinner over one evening - to hang out with them and the baby.

If the problem is that you've ignored them, it seems weird to "make it up to them" by sending them off somewhere without you. Set up something where you could interact with them and the baby. Like others have said, at six weeks it's very possible they're not ready to leave the baby with someone anyway. And this way they get to see you with the baby, which could help them trust you to babysit later.
