It was a fairly safe D seat (D+9), but the margin is the important thing here.

There were one or two other specials so far (like the one to replace the guy who died of Covid after getting elected, where his widow won) that were extremely safe R. This one shows some hope that while 2022 will still likely suck, Democrats are still engaged even with Trump gone.
