... a semi-smart plan for someone like me would be to buy a boat, use it for a while, improve it a bit, and then put it on the market at approximately the same price I paid. Perhaps in a different region (after sailing it there) where that type of boat might be in higher demand.
Then, when it sells, buy a better one and repeat.
The trick here is to not buy one that I'd be stuck with in perpetuity. Difficult trap to avoid.
Also, I'd need a lot more boating experience. Working on that this summer.
