Heh, one of the sailing channels I follow on YouTube is embarking on a transatlantic crossing.

He's spent the past six months refitting his boat in North Carolina, posting the stuff on YouTube. Some of it is ingenious - lots of 3D printing - but some other parts of it make me concerned about how the trip is going to go for him safety-wise.

In his second-most recent video he lost his phone overboard, and with it went 4 videos worth of footage that he'd been hoping to trickle out on YT during the crossing for income.

I decided to join his Patreon today as a result. Maybe it was an elaborate ruse? 😂 nah.

Previously he crossed part of the pacific in a 24' sailboat, so I'm sure he can handle things. (youtube.com)
