In response to "pfft, I'll wager I'm the only STer with multiple autographed stuff from Guy Lafleur -- nm" by Beaker

The Bay once did a promo celebrating the '72 Series with a bunch of stars doing autographs.

I was never really a big hockey fan, not an autograph hound or anything like that, but I knew these guys were superstars, and it was during the sporting cards boom of the 80s. The Bay had released a series of cards and we could get them autographed. My brother took me downtown and we lined up. Story was Phil Esposito was a real hard ass, and he's a big guy. And everyone would only sign only one card. It was like being at the Soup Nazi. We put out our card, they signed them, and we moved down the line. But we had more cards, so we got back in line and went around a 2nd time. By then, the crowds were deeply diminished, which you wouldn't see today. People were just milling about. Esposito recognized me from earlier and I was afraid he was gonna give me a hard time for coming around twice. He remarked that he'd seen me earlier and I explain and he laughed and signed all the cards I gave him.
