Even so, it's awfully hard to give that precious child to strangers, not knowing what will happen.

D had a raging sinus infection when she was 3. It's called "pansinusitis", every sinus passage in her head was infected and full. She was vomiting non-stop for days. Her ped admitted her to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital and they decided to do an endoscopy to make sure her stomach wasn't bleeding. Evidently she reacted badly to the anesthesia, when they brought me to her in recovery she looked dead. Then they told me they'd had to give her 3 doses of Narcan (what they give people with a narcotics od) to bring her around. I totally freaked. It all worked out, but damn, you never know what will happen. This was supposed to be a quick 15 minute procedure.
