Every hitter tinkers with their swing to some degree. That's what hitting coaches do.
But to hit the other way a lot of times can be done by swinging just a tad later. Or shifting their weight.
Most of the guys who have +power, have it for straight away/opposite field, too.
Eventually these Chris Davis-like hitters will all be out of the league, and the hitters left will be the ones who've adjusted. You're already seeing players who only hit home runs have a tougher and tougher time finding a place on a major league roster.
